List of Ancestral Places

On this page there are links to two pdf files generated by the software package, Family Tree Maker.  They each contain address information extracted from the Individual Reports.

Each file contains an alphabetical list of the places with which our ancestors have been associated.  The first file shows just the names of the ancestors for each place.  The second file contains the names and the events linked to the address.  These events are birth/baptism, marriage, death/burial and other events, such as birth of children.

The place names have been set as follows - Town/Village/District,   County,  Country,  Street/Area/Household (where known), so there may be more than one group for a particular place, but they will be consecutive.

On some earlier census records the parish, which is shown in the top left corner of the form, is said to be
St George in the East, in Middlesex.  In the top right corner is the Ecclesiastical District. For example in the 1861 Census for James Carpenter, the Ecclesiastical District is St Mary's, which was the parish church of Whitechapel.  Also, on some censuses, the ancestor (or the enumerator) has given St George in the East as the place of birth.  The Ecclesiastical District is a more precise indication of the place of residence or of an event, so an event is only be shown as having taken place in St George in the East, if it has not been possible to discover the Ecclesiastical District.
